Below is the text of the guarantee supplied to all installations. It is only reproduced here for information. The paper guarantee supplied acts as your guarantee and carries additional information on maintenance.

Emmet's Windows guarantees to repair or replace, free of all charges for labour and materials, any PVCu or sealed units which develop a fault, (including condensation between the glasses of the units), due to defective materials or workmanship within 10 years of the date of installation.

Door and window furniture, tracks, runners, mounting mechanisms, guttering and trims are covered for 5 years. You must notify us of any claim under the terms of this guarantee within 28 days of discovery of the fault and you should preferably notify us by sending a recorded delivery letter.

Despite the fact that your statutory rights remain unaffected, this guarantee does not extend to:-

• Minor imperfections within the glass and outside the scope of the visual quality standards of the Glass and Glazing Federation.
• Damage due to misuse, neglect or lack of maintenance by you (see reverse of supplied paper guarantee for details).
• Specialist items installed, for example electrical ventilators, batteries, etc, where the manufacturers normal guarantee will apply.

Any repair work carried out or replacment units supplied within he terms of this guarantee will also be covered but only for the portion still remaining of the guarantee period.

In the event of a disposal of the property covered by this guarantee Emmet's Windows will permit the benefits of the remaining period of guarantee to be assigned to the new owner of the property and will recognise such new owner as a person entitled to the benefit. Emmet's Windows must be advised in writing of the change of ownership within one month of the date of change.

Emmet's Windows is backed by Insurance Backed Guarantees. As a contractor cannot give absolute assurance as to the length of time he will be in business, Insurance Backed Guarantees exist to provide insurance cover, which will honour our guarantee, in the unlikely event of us ceasing to trade.
